Utah’s Hogle Zoo dates from 1931 and is located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon. The Zoo is one of the most visited attractions in Utah and the top paid-for tourist attraction in Salt Lake City. Its natural terrain covers 42 acres of tree-lined pathways where visitors can view over 800 animals. 2009 was a banner year for the Zoo featuring the first African elephant born at the Zoo on August 10, 2009 and the milestone of 1,000,000 visitors in one year was reached in December. Don’t miss the Asian Highlands which is an amazing re-creation of a Himalayan village and houses five endangered species of Asian cat. Also on your must-see list is the Elephant Encounter which features African elephants and white rhinos. Willow Park Zoo, Logan Utah
The Willow Park Zoo is home to a variety of animals, from lemurs to elk to bobcats, including one of the best collections of birds in the region, with more than 100 species. A very family friendly environement where children are invited to feed the ducks, geese, and trout. The grounds have a grassy play and picnic area shaded by tall trees.
Willow Park Zoo focuses on education, conservation, scientific study, and offers recreation through its services to all patrons. The Zoo maintains a very popular story time program, conservation-oriented on-site and outreach education programs that involve over 10,000 students each year.
Open six days a week from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Closed Sundays and November through March.
