Micke Grove Regional Park, Lodi Ca.

A gem with plenty of amenities, this 258-acre oak tree park features Micke Grove Zoo, (click here for more info); the Japanese Garden, a favorite wedding spot with Cherry Blossom trees, Tea Pavilion and Koi pond; rental facilities with outdoor picnic shelters and indoor facilities for receptions, family reunions and corporate events; Funderwoods Amusement Park, offering fun-filled rides, delicious treats and party packages; the San Joaquin Historical Museum; softball fields and a children’s play area.

Location: 11793 N. Micke Grove Rd., Lodi (Off Highway 99, west of Armstrong Rd. exit and follow the signs).

Hours:
Micke Grove Zoo is open every day of the year from 10:00am-5:00pm except for Christmas Day.
The last zoo admission is at 4:30pm

Oakland Zoo Oakland Ca.

The Oakland Zoo is open daily from 10am to 4pm, closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. The children’s rides area, train, and sky ride open at 11am. In the event of inclement weather, the Zoo may be forced to close.
Nestled in the rolling hills of 525-acre Knowland Park, the Zoo is located at 9777 Golf Links Rd., Oakland off Highway 580, and is home to more than 440 native and exotic animals.
The Oakland Zoo is a non-profit organization, managed by the East Bay Zoological Society. Founded in 1922 by Henry Snow, the Zoo has been located in its current Knowland Park location since 1936.

The Santa Barbara Zoological Gardens is located on over 30 acres overlooking East beach. With over 600 animals, the Zoo offers the Gift Store, a Dentzel family enclosed carousel and two C.P. Huntington trains to complete your visit.
The Santa Barbara Zoo is dedicated to the preservation, conservation and enhancement of the natural world and its living treasures through education, research, and recreation.

Visit The Little Zoo in the Park


The William Land Park Zoo opened on June 2, 1927 as the City of Sacramento brought together an assortment of animals from area parks. At that time, the 4.2 acre zoo was home to a diverse collection of 40 animals that included monkeys, raccoons, birds, deer and various other small animals. Today the Zoo is home to over 140 native, rare and endangered species and is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Zoo is wholly managed by the nonprofit Sacramento Zoological Society and inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation.
